Kakanui School sits at the heart of the small township of Kakanui, which is a 10 minute drive south of Oamaru. We cater for students from New Entrants right up to Year Eight. Our students who come from both Kakanui and Oamaru enjoy learning and playing in well-resourced classrooms, expansive grounds and engaging in the exciting local area.

Our school is filled with active, engaged and motivated students and are taught by dedicated, skilled and friendly staff who cater for all learners.

Kakanui School is a school full of activity. We utilise our spacious grounds, large court areas, the beach and river; to promote movement, health and sports. We want ‘children to be children’ and enjoy oceans of opportunities to explore, take on personal challenges and create their own play in the outdoors.
