About Kakanui School

Kakanui School is a full Primary School catering for students from Year 1 to 8. Set in beautiful surroundings the school has approximately 28 students and 2 teachers. Kakanui School are proud of their Enviroschool status and the students are actively engaged in sustainability projects around the school. The facilities at our school are excellent and we boast a heated swimming pool, computer suite, library and hall as well as access to a wide variety of ICT tools. We use the inquiry model of learning and place a focus on student achievement and success.

Kakanui is a village situated 10km south of Oamaru, where the Kakanui River meets the sea.
